TUFTED CONCRETE TEST
Awhile back we had the crazy idea of using a site-cast process to make tufted concrete (as you may know, I have a thing for tufting and quilting). I didn’t really know if it was even possible to fabricate, but recently my friend Brad who does amazing concrete and furniture work at his shop, Concrete Seven, actually figured out how to do it. They’ve been experimenting with a ton of different flexible form-work materials, and I think they’ve finally cracked it.
We’re thinking of starting a new collaboration between The Made Shop and Concrete Seven desigining furniture and art pieces (concrete tufted Chesterfield outdoor couches??).
I think we’re gonna come up with some pretty rad stuff. Can’t wait to show all of you the results!
